ANKARA-Jenin Project executed by TEPAV within the framework of the TOBB-BIS (Industry for Peace) initiative gained ground. A TEPAV delegation, on behalf of the TOBB-BIS Industrial Parks Management Company that was founded in order to establish and develop industrial estates within and outside of Turkey, made a visit to Jordan on May 26-28, 2009. During this meeting, the Turkish delegation conducted meetings with the representatives of the Northern International and Industrial Company (NIIC) that already holds the concession rights to develop the Jenin Industrial Estate situated in the northern part of the West Bank. The meetings were conducted in order to discuss  a possible partnership between TOBB-BIS and NIIC. The meetings were conducted under the supervision of Palestinian Chief of Cabinet Dr. Hasan Abu Libdeh and consensus was reached regarding the general principles of a strategic partnership. As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the parties that outline the general principles of this partnership as well as the steps to be taken in order to go ahead with the successful implementation of the project. The next step was identified to be the evaluation of the current value of the NIIC in order to have a better idea about the new partnership structure of the company. The evaluation process is estimated to be completed in the span of a month.
