TEPAV (The Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey) launched the research project aimed at aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with the Middle Corridor Initiative, in collaboration with the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS) in China. The signing ceremony for the project was attended by high-level officials from both Türkiye and China.
TEPAV, ACCWS, and China Today magazine, which is affiliated with the European and African Center of the China International Publishing Group (CICG), initiated the research project to harmonize the Belt and Road Initiative with the Middle Corridor Initiative. As part of the project, TEPAV and ACCWS will work closely together.
The signing ceremony in Ankara was attended by Turkish Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ankara Liu Shaobin, Chinese Consul General in Istanbul Wei Xiaodong, Vice President of CICG Liu Dawei, and President of Turkuvaz Media's Brand and Marketing Group Sinan Köksal.
Following the signing ceremony, Feride Inan from TEPAV gave a presentation in the panel titled "Deepening Reforms in China in the New Era and the Opportunities They Bring." The panel was moderated by Yan Ying, Vice President of the CICG European and African Center, and featured other panelists including Hu Kaimin, President of the CICG Foreign Languages Publishing House, Murat Yeşiltaş, Director of Foreign Policy Studies at the SETA Foundation, and Murat Kolbaşı, Vice President of the Türkiye-China Business Council at DEIK.
During the event, the Turkish edition of Chinese President Xi Jinping's book The Governance of China was presented to Turkish Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz, as well as to representatives of think tanks including TEPAV.
