tepav@tepav.org.tr / tepav.org.trTEPAV is a non-profit, non-partisan research institution that contributes to the policy design process through data-driven analysis, adhering to academic ethics and quality without compromise.
The Mediterranean Alliance Think Tank on Climate Change (MATTCC), for which TEPAV serves as a coordinating institution, has developed a priority document for the agenda of the new Mediterranean Commissioner on climate, energy, and the environment. They have also sent a letter to the European Commission proposing priority policy areas for the New Pact for the Mediterranean.
MATTCC was inaugurated in Tangier in 2023 and endorsed by the Union for the Mediterranean at the first Green Week in Istanbul in May 2024. As a network comprising think tanks and independent experts across the Mediterranean region, the Alliance aims to tackle climate challenges specific to the Mediterranean by enhancing collective efforts among think tanks, promoting existing research, and advancing evidence-based policies and cooperation. MATTCC's activities are coordinated by the Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF) in Spain, ECCO - the Italian Climate Change Think Tank in Italy, The Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), the Sustainable Economics and Finance Association (SEFiA) in Turkey, and The Imal Initiative for Climate and Development (IMAL) in Morocco.
