Asmin Kavas (PhD) graduated from the Department of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Architecture from Bilkent University in 2008. In 2011 she received her master's degree from Department of Political Science and Public Administration Urban and Environmental Science from Ankara University with the thesis on " Voluntary Environmental Organizations in Turkey''. In 2012, she started her doctorate and completed her doctoral degree on 19th June 2017 with the thesis on "A study on the Relationship between Municipalities and Voter Behavior: Ankara Yenimahalle and Altındağ Discrict Municipalities Case''.
In 2008-2009, Kavas participated in the United Nations Joint Program ''Women-Friendly Cities Project'' design team. Between 2011 -2015 she took part in many European Union financed projects. She served as the project assistant in the "Project for Increasing the Enrollment Rates of Girls" (2011-2012), and she worked as the training expert in the "Local Level Strategic Local Governance Project" (2011-2013). In 2013-2014, as a project expert she worked in the "European Forum for the Reduction of Disaster Risk" Project. She also served as an expert in the project called "Yerep-YerelNET" which has conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Development and Middle East Amme Administration Institute Local Authorities Center. In 2013-2015, she served as an expert both in "Mardin Sustainable Tourism Project" and in "Service Standards Project".
Asmin Kavas joined to TEPAV in May 2015. She has been working as a Policy Analyst in City Studies Program and Area Studies Program of TEPAV.
Since September 2019, Kavas continues to work as an assistant professor in Eskişehir Osmangazi University-Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences- Political Science and Public Administration Department of Urbanization and Environmental Problems.
