2014 marks the 15th anniversary of the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland’s, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Slovak Republic’s accession to NATO. Given the recent turn of events in the European Union’s eastern borders, the Visegrád countries’ acting in harmony in NATO and their active participation to shape and affect the organization’s eastern European agenda is clearly of utmost importance for regional security. Therefore, firstly, this event aims to examine the Visegrád countries’ past decade in NATO as a coherent group of actors, and develop the means to enhance their future cooperation within the organization. Secondly, the role of Turkey, an older member of NATO, in the organization vis-à-vis the Visegrád countries and means of strengthening the strategic ties between these countries will be discussed in the event. The event will comprise two consecutive sessions as detailed below.
