Mühdan Sağlam received her bachelor's degree in international relations from TOBB Etu and MA and PhD degrees from Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of International Relations. Her main areas of interest are energy policies, political economy, state-energy company relations, political economy of energy, climate change, Russian foreign policy and energy policies, Eurasian energy politics. She is the author of the book Gazprom's Russia (2014, Siyasal Kitabevi) and has published reports and articles on energy, political economy and climate change. In addition to his academic experience, she has worked as a columnist, energy and foreign policy analyst and news anchor for media outlets including AA Energy Terminal, Gazete Duvar, Almonitor, Middle East Eye, Artı Gerçek and Kısa Dalga. In addition to Turkish, she speaks English, Russian (limited) and Kurdish. She has been working as the Director of TEPAV Center for Energy and Climate Change Studies since April 2025.
