Dr. A.Burak Büyükcivelek graduated from the Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2004, with a major degree in City and Regional Planning and a minor degree in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing. He pursued his master’s degree at Université Paris XII with the support of the French Government Scholarship (Bourse d'Excellence) and obtained his degree in 2005. Later, he completed his doctoral studies at the University College London in 2014, with the support of the Turkish Council of Higher Education scholarship. Dr. Büyükcivelek specializes in the political economy of urbanization, urban policies, and local/regional development, and currently serves as a faculty member at METU, City and Regional Planning Department.
