The 25th annual conference of The Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry will be carried out in Istanbul with the theme "Asian Business: Re-setting Priorities amid Shifting World Economic Balance".
ISTANBUL - The Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) representing more than 3 million businesses in 27 countries including Turkey will carry out its 25th annual conference on March 6-8, 2011 in Istanbul. TEPAV Director Güven Sak will deliver a speech in the conference with the theme "Asian Business: Re-setting Priorities amid Shifting World Economic Balance".
Aiming to improve the role of the business world in the region, CACCI organizes conferences in different countries each year to discuss the regional and global economic matters with the participation of representatives of international organizations and the business leaders. This year's conference will be carried out in Çırağan Palace with the participation of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Abdullah Gül. The host of the conference is Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
The conference will inaugurate with the opening speeches by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and CACCI President Benedicto V. Yujuico. After the opening speeches, TEPAV Director Güven Sak will deliver a presentation. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu will also speak in the first day of the presentation. Sessions of the three-day conference will focus on "re-setting priorities of the region, maximum utilization of limited resources, developing cross-border regional infrastructure, evaluation of the policies to foster regional cooperation and how to use the latest technologies and most innovative approaches in order to obtain maximum and sustainable results." The Asia-Pacific region is a net energy-importer with innovation and technology leader emerging markets and a market structure with more than 3 billion consumers. The relations the region is to establish with Russia, Central Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe have a determinant position for the world economy. The 21st century is considered to be the "Pacific Century".
