73rd Issue of TEPAV Employment Bulletin Is Published
Using the Social Security Institution (SGK) data for March 2018 and İSKUR data for April 2018, the 73th issue of TEPAV’s Employment Monitoring Bulletin indicates that while the number of employees in formal employment increased by 767 thousand , number of companies increased by 132 thousand in March 2018 compared to in March 2017.
The sector with the highest increase in the number of employees in formal employment (4/a) is the education sector with an increase of 70 thousand. This sector is followed by construction of buildings with an increase of 66 thousand, public administration and defence; compulsory social security with an increase of 64 thousand, human health activities with an increase of 59 thousand and retail trade with an increase of 48 thousand.
The province in which the number of employees increased the most is İstanbul with an increase of 121 thousand. İstanbul is followed by Ankara with an increase of 58 thousand, Antalya and İzmir with an increase of 54 thousand, Bursa with an increase of 30 thousand.
Construction of buildings sector is the sector where the number of companies increased the most (10 thousand). This sector is followed by the wholesale trade sector, the land transport and transport via pipelines sector and retail trade sector with 9 thousand, and the food and beverage service activities with 8 thousand.
The highest increase took place in İstanbul with 27 thousand. İstanbul is followed by İzmir with 12 thousand, Ankara with 11 thousand, Bursa with 6 thousand and Antalya with 5 thousand.
