US Presidential Election to be held on 8 November 2016 was assessed in TEPAV
David Lublin, Professor of government at American University, Washington D.C., came to TEPAV to talk about the upcoming presidential elections in the United States. Lublin explained the electoral system in the U.S., as well as the role of Senate, Congress, the Judiciary and the Presidency. He touched upon the traditional positions of the two leading political parties towards issues on the U.S. political agenda. He then took questions from attendees. Participants were most curious about the way forward for U.S. foreign policy’s after the elections.
