Mr. Johannes F. Linn, the Executive Director of the Wolfensohn Initiative at the Brookings Institution and the Former Vice-President of the World Bank, came to Ankara on September 29-30, 2005 upon the invitation of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). During his brief stay in Ankara, Economic Policy Research Institute (TEPAV|EPRI) and the Ankara Office of the United Nations Development Program co-hosted an event on the occasion of the publication of UNDP's Central Asia Human Development Report in December 2005. At this meeting, the preliminary findings of the UNDP Central Asia Human Development Report was presented to a selected audience by the lead author, Mr. Linn. The next day, on September 30, 2005, Mr. Linn gave a more general speech on the issue of economic integration in Central Asia at a meeting held at the Economic Policy Research Institute (TEPAV|EPRI) office in Ankara.
