67th Issue of TEPAV’s Employment Monitoring Bulletin is Published
Using the Social Security Institution (SSI) data for September 2017, the 67th issue of TEPAV’s Employment Monitoring Bulletin indicates that the number of SMEs increased by 101 thousand in September 2017 compared to September 2016.
The province in which the number of SME increased the most is İstanbul with an increase of 21 thousand. İstanbul is followed by İzmir with a increase of 8 thousand, Ankara with increase of 7 thousand, Bursa and Antalya with increase of 5 thousand. The province in which the number of SME increased the least is Gümüşhane with an increase of 53.
Employment activities sector is the sector where the number of SME increased the fastest with 25,8 percent. This sector is followed by the manufacture of tobacco products, real estate activities, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and construction of buildings. Extraction of crude petroleum and gas sector is the sector where the number of SME decreased the fastest with 29,3 percent.
