Commentary/Esen Çağlar: How can Turkey be a model for the Arab countries?
Publication Date:20/06/2011

TEPAV Economic Policy Analyst Esen Çağlar addressed the "Turkish model" debate in the context of his impressions from the Arab League meeting held in Cairo.

Çağlar assessed: "Today, Turkey is maybe the biggest source of inspiration for the Arab countries. Turkey can become a model only after it starts to assess the ongoing transformation process from a more objective perspective. I believe that no country can be a better model than Turkey, which has the capacity to solve its problems via peace, stability and prosperity."
