Uzbek officials received training on interbudgetary relations by TEPAV Training and Research Institute for Public Policy (TRIPP).
TASHKENT - TEPAV organized a training program on public finance in Uzbekistan in collaboration with Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) and United Nations Development Programe (UNDP). The program with the theme "Interbudgetary" was held on March 28 - April 1, 2011.
In the context of the program participated by officials from the relevant ministries in Uzbekistan including the Ministry of Finance, presentations were made with the following themes: "Budget Principles and Classifications", "Central Government Budget Preparation", "Local Governments", "Intergovernmental Transfers" and "Interbudgetary Transfers". The trainings were delivered by Ümit Özlale, Director of TEPAV Training and Research Institute for Public Policy (TRIPP) and Zeki Balta, Head of Ministry of Finance Directorate General for Public Accounts. Ümit Özlale also lectured in a seminar in Tashkent Institute of Finance with the theme "Fiscal Decentralization and Microeconomic Performance".
The training program was organized as the second pillar of the cooperation program on "Public Finance" with UNDP. It is planned to repeat the program in Turkey in June 2011. The organizing institution agreed that after the completion of the training program, similar programs shall be designed in 2011.
