Where is Turkey for Global Competition on Lisbon Agenda?

The first regional seminar of Project on Inter-Institutional Cooperation and Training to Raise Awareness on Lisbon Strategy is going to be carried out on 18 February 2008 under the host of Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO).
Within the framework of the program, while the subjects on "Assessing European Union Lisbon Strategy Policy Areas" and "Lisbon Agenda of Turkey" are going to addressed.
In the afternoon, during the workshops, the answers of the following questions are going to be sought:
"What kind of policies can be developed in order to solve the employment problem of the youth under the scope of Lisbon agenda?"
"Which steps can be taken by the universities in İzmir so as to meet the needs of the city (İzmir)?"
What kind of policies can be formulated to benefit efficiently from the potential of İzmir (tourism, logistics, alternative energy sources, climate, young population, etc.) within the framework of Lisbon Agenda?"
Project on Inter-Institutional Cooperation and Trainings to Raise Awareness on Lisbon Agenda has been started in 2007 by means of the cooperation among British Embassy- Project Department, European Policy Information Center (EPIC, UK) and Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV). The Project is financed by Integrating European Program of Global Opportunities Fund (GOF) Foreign and Commonwealth Office of UK.
