Participants of the Young Turkey/Young America Program were briefed on Turkey's economy, foreign policy and the upcoming elections during a panel meeting held at TEPAV.
ANKARA - A panel meeting was held at TEPAV on Monday, May 30, 2011 as part of the Turkey events of the Young Turkey/Young America Program, which aims to establish ties between American and Turkish leaders of the future.
Participants of this year's Young Turkey/Young America Program organized by the Atlantic Council of the United States (ACUS) and the Sabancı University Istanbul Policy Center paid a visit to TEPAV in the scope of the Turkey events of the program. Participants of the panel meeting at TEPAV were briefed by experts on Turkey's economy, foreign policy and the upcoming elections. Uğur Ziyal, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Advisor and Former Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry; Sarp Kalkan, TEPAV Economic Policy Analyst; and Assoc. Prof. Özgehan Şenyuva of Middle East Technical University delivered speeches. The program continued with questions from the audience and ended with a cocktail reception.
The Young Turkey/Young America Program aims to establish ties and strengthen constructive relations between future leaders of Turkey and America amid the 25-30 age group. Turkey part of this year's program that involves visits to Ankara, Adana, Mersin, Şanlıurfa and Istanbul will be held between May 28 and June 11.
