During the introduction meeting, the audience was briefed on the first project of WIFI Turkey.
ANKARA – Vocational training institute WIFI Turkey introduced its operations to representatives from international corporations based in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The meeting held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 was attended by representatives of large corporations including Lufthansa, Novartis, OMV, Voestalpine, Grosser&Grosser and EnerjiSa.

The monthly meeting organized by Ankara embassies of the mentioned countries and attended by corporate representatives was hosted by TEPAV in January. Delivering an opening address, TEPAV director and WIFI Turkey Director Prof. Dr. Ümit Özlale said that WIFI, the Institute for Economic Promotion owned by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, has transferred to Turkey its experiences in vocational, managerial and technical trainings of more than four decades. Özlale gave information on the first project of WIFI Turkey, established in April 2012 under the auspices of TEPAV. WIFI Turkey will be a strategic business partner of the trainings on industrial maintenance Austrian Institute for Development and Cooperation (ICEP) will carry out in Eskişehir, within the context of its social responsibility operations. Özlale stressed that during the three-year project, WIFI Turkey would design the training of the trainers program so as to facilitate capacity development in Eskişehir and develop a sustainable high-quality training program.
Professor Özlale also briefed the audience on the latest employment figures and labor market needs of Turkey. Pointing at the ongoing supply-demand mismatch at the labor market, he emphasized that WIFI Turkey would carry out standard or needs-oriented trainings with international validity on a wide array of subjects.
During the opening session, Mag Bekos Constantine, the Austrian Economy delegate in Ankara, and Aufner Anton, CEO of WIFI International, delivered opening addresses. Bekos draw attention to the internationalization of WIFI and Aufner gave brief information on WIFI activities.
WIFI has established training institutes in Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary.
At the meeting, a short introduction film about WIFI was run. The meeting was followed by a business reception.
