US Vice President Biden attended the Entrepreneurship Summit

US Vice President Biden attended the “2nd Global Entrepreneurship Summit” organized by the Prime Ministry of Turkey in Istanbul. ​


ISTANBUL – US Vice President Biden attended the 2nd Global Entrepreneurship Summit during which the winners of the Turkey 25 Project carried out by TEPAV was announced.

The second “Global Entrepreneurship Summit” the first of which was hosted in Washington by President Obama is hosted by the Prime Ministry of Turkey in Istanbul. The Summit started on December 3, 2011 Friday with the opening remarks by Joe Biden, US Vice President, Cemil Çiçek, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Ali Babacan, Vice President of Turkey, and Zafer Çağlayan, Minister of Economy.

Following opening remarks, winners of the Turkey 25 contest, carried out by TEPAV in cooperation with TOBB and All World Network to elect 25 fastest growing companies of Turkey, were announced.

Following the award ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, US Vice President Joe Biden, TEPAV Director and TOBB ETÜ Acting Rector Güven Sak, President of the Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association Ümit Boyner, President of the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association Ömer Vardan, President of  Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association Hasan Sert, TOBB Young Entrepreneurs Committee President Ali Sabancı, TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Committee President Aynur Bektaş, MIT Enterprise Chair Selçuk Kiper, TOBB Private Equity Council Chair Göktekin Dinçerler, Secretary General of Technology Development Foundation Mete Çakmakçı, Founder of Endeavor Turkey Didem Altop, US Ambassador to Turkey Francis J. Ricciardone and senior US officials joined in a session. TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu shared his opinions about the Turkish-American economic and trade relations with US Vice President Biden.​
